Kid
Pix Examples - First Grade
| Here
are some activities that were created by teachers at Miller School
for use during "centers" time. Looking at standards, we
created mini-projects that could be completed in a short period of
time and that reinforced concepts expected by the curriculum. Each
teacher created one activity, locked it (so it could be used as a
template) and we shared. Special thanks to Gnell Denny for getting
us going and Erin English for her idea on how to export Kid Pix as
gifs. |

| After
learning how to draw geometric shapes and type text, Mr. Ruiz (Central)
taught his first grade students how to combine those shapes to create
other pictures. They were studying short e words and the class made
a short e sentence to illustrate. |

| After
seeing how students could stamp a picture and then type (or stamp
the letter (initial consonant) to go with it, Mrs. Gray (L.R. Green)
thought of students stamping their names. |
