California Mission Internet Trail

Only days after the website was posted, the San Diego Union ran an article describing the students efforts. Immediately email from the community began arriving. One stood out, "I applaud your efforts and anxiously await to see your portrayal of the Native Californian. It's time students learned the truth!"

Of course, the students wanted to know what "truth" he was referencing. Concerned about their response, I responded first, explaining that every effort was being made to portray this historical period as accurately as possible with a subtle reminder that these were fourth grade students. The correspondence continued.

Turned out, Mr. Jolly was a retired University Archival Music Professor. Upon his retirement, he fulfilled the one dream time didn't allow during his career - the influence of music during the mission era. Mr. Jolly had spend months perusing the museum archives and physically visiting each mission. He donated his findings to the "Teacher Resource Page".
