The mission was in a state of deteration from neglect in the 1920's, when the roof caved in, the rain soaked the adobe bricks, in a short length of time the mission was considered in "ruins".
The above photograph displays the state of ruin the mission had reached in 1927.
At the same time, the aquaduct system was considered in "good" shape.
